Citizen Corps

* Recently a motion was made to the Los Angeles City Council to study the feasibility of creating a “Citizen Enforcement Corps.” If the council finally approves this method of control of the people, then it should be referred to as a “Spy on Your Neighbor Corps.”
Councilwoman Laura Chick [introduced] her proposal for a volunteer corps to beef up the city’s code enforcement, which would assist city departments in identifying and enforcing code violations.
Can any government--any size or anywhere in America--be so bankrupt, financially and morally, as to set neighbor against neighbor? Imagine an organization spying on citizens and reporting the slightest infraction to a nonelected, unremovable bureaucrat for prosecution. Perhaps I should say persecution.
It is time to protect the civil rights and human rights of our people. This proposal must not be permitted to “hatch.” It is time to checkmate the government control of the people, and we’d better do it right here in our own backyard. By the way, what is your definition of a police state?
