FEMINISM VS. HISTORY

Regarding the book review of “Undaunted Courage” (April 7):
About one-third of the way through the “review” I knew something was wrong. I stopped to check out the reviewer’s “bio.” Ah, yes, a feminist professor of history, Patricia Nelson Limerick.
There is not enough space to delineate the specifics of this noxious miasma of feminist effluvia, but please, dear editor, it is out of place in Book Review.
Limerick points out that there was a great celebration when Lewis and Clark returned, since they had been presumed dead. Based on her 1990s mind-set, they perhaps should have telephoned their mothers to reassure them of their safety.
O tempore, o mores!
