William E. Irish, 81, former head of the street contracting company Irish Construction. Irish earned a bachelor’s degree and pursued graduate study at UC Berkeley and then served with the Army Air Corps radio intelligence unit in World War II. He operated his Los Angeles-based construction company throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Irish served as president of the Southern California chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America in 1954 and as head of the Jonathan Club in downtown Los Angeles in 1958. On May 31 in San Diego.
