Nadadores Have Big First Day at Diving Competition

The Mission Viejo Nadadores swept the first day of diving competition at the Southern Pacific Assn. Outdoor Diving Championships Friday at the Mission Viejo Aquatic Center.
In the men’s 16-18 diving competition, Nadadores Daniel Kozak of Poland won the 10-meter platform event. J.P. Palmer, 18, who lives in Chino, won the women’s competition.
Erica Sorgi, 14, who is one of the nation’s top age-group divers, won the five-meter platform and teammate Erica Healey won the five-meter in the 12-13 age-group.
Competition continues at 9 a.m. today with girls’ one-meter diving.
