Clinic Seeking Public’s Help

UC Irvine Medical Center will cease operating the Laguna Beach Community Clinic (LBCC) on June 30. UCI has been operating the clinic for the last year. The board of directors of the clinic, under the able leadership of Gwen Barry, thank UC Irvine for the medical care they have provided residents. This clinic has served several communities for over 25 years. It is open to all people, including you and me.
In order to continue the quality medical services that the clinic has traditionally offered, the board is actively pursuing health care provider partners committed to serving a diverse and deserving population.
To avoid interruption of services during the period of provider transition, LBCC is requesting financial support from the community at large and patients who make use of our clinic. Over 20,000 patient visits were made last year. Historically, Laguna Beach has been seen as a refuge and a home, a community committed to diversity in thinking, orientation, in values, a community committed to the welfare of individual human beings.
Inquiries are welcome at (714) 499-6031 or (714) 361-8620. UC Irvine will close their doors at the Laguna site on June 30, but we intend to keep the clinic doors open beginning July 1.
