Foie Out!

S. Irene Virbila, the Ruth Reichl wanna-be expresses the kinds of feelings and opinions that turn me off. Her rhapsodizing about foie gras, sweetbreads, marbleized beef, suckling pig, juicy veal chops and wild game--often with creamed and fried accompaniments--are so horrendously immoral and out of touch, it’s infuriating (“Return of the Top 40,” April 28). She’s about two decades behind.
If she stopped writing about restaurants and foods, she probably could get work in the tobacco industry.

Why do the Top 40 continue to thrive on the practice of the torture and suffering of feeling animals? I have nothing but contempt for people who can boil an animal alive while it struggles in pain.
