* A few weeks ago the city opened a new library in North Hills on Nordhoff Street.
To get to the library from our area, we either have to go all the way to Woodley Avenue, which is quite a distance for elderly citizens, or take a chance and dodge the traffic across from Valjean Avenue.
It would cost the city a very nominal amount of money to mark a crosswalk directly to the library from Valjean Avenue. Let’s not wait until the first major accident to correct this situation.
