Vacation Policy Rips Off Taxpayers

Re: The July 24 expose of the sheriff’s raises.
Thank you, thank you, for turning over this rock. Perhaps you should start a special section called the Fleecing of Ventura County.
Wrapping vacation credits into base salary amounts to legal stealing of the taxpayers’ money. These people are making the federal government people look like pikers. No one in industry allows such practices.
You might also explore why the county and city don’t have a “use it or lose it policy” on vacation. Any more than 30 days should be lost. Vacation is to be used to keep workers refreshed, not enrich them through these greedy schemes.
Keep up the good work.
