COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : McCutcheon Sees Defense as His Future

A year ago, blue-ribbon freshman recruit Daylon McCutcheon was a first-day explosive defensive player.
The coaches figured maybe McCutcheon should be an offensive player too. But McCutcheon says his NFL future is at cornerback and was reluctant to play both ways.
“Coach [John] Robinson and I talked maybe five times after last season, about me coming in as a setback on passing downs, giving me maybe five or six plays,” he said. “But we both agreed I still have a lot to learn about playing corner.”
It didn’t look as if he had much left to learn Friday morning. He intercepted two passes and batted down a third.
