Solicitor’s Collection for Seniors Called Scam
- Share via
City officials are warning elderly residents not to give money to door-to-door solicitors who say they are representing the senior center or Seniors’ Outreach Center.
A white man, 30 to 35 years old, about 5 feet 10, with black hair, mustache and goatee, has been soliciting donations illegally by saying he represents senior services, officials said.
The man also displays a city permit and photo, officials said, but no one has been designated by the city or senior services to solicit money, officials said.
The Police Department is asking residents to contact officers at (714) 375-5165 if approached by the solicitor.
