A 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in an apparent gang-related fight that broke out in front of residential driveway, police said Monday.
Officers found the body of Michael A. Hernandez of Santa Ana in the 1900 block of South Rene Drive about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Bob Clark said.
Witnesses told police that Hernandez had been walking down South Rene Drive when a group of men drove up in a green car and began arguing with him.
Two men apparently got out of the car and started fighting with Hernandez, Clark said. The attackers then got back into their car and fled.
Hernandez suffered multiple stab wounds.
No weapon was found, and the department’s gang unit is investigating. Hernandez is a known gang member, police said.
Police ask anyone with information to call the watch commander at (714) 647-6995.
