With ratings for the Emmy Awards up 16% over last year and strong showings by “Monday Night Football,” “20/20” and “PrimeTime Live,” ABC won the prime-time ratings race last week, Nielsen Media Research reported Tuesday.
Sunday’s three-hour telecast of the Emmy Awards ranked third among all programs last week with household ratings that put it well ahead of last year’s show on Fox and just shy of the 1994 broadcast on ABC. ABC researchers estimated that 45 million people saw at least some of the broadcast.
The “Monday Night Football” game between Dallas and Chicago also topped ratings among the 18-to-49-year-old audience that advertisers prize.
