Coming Attractions

Here’s a look at key events this week for UC Irvine:

* Water polo this weekend. Fourth-ranked Anteaters meet No. 5 Stanford at 7 p.m. today at Heritage Park in Irvine and compete in the Southern California Tournament at Newport Harbor High Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, Irvine faces Stanford at 2 p.m. and No. 10 UC Davis at 6:40 p.m. Semifinals continue Sunday with the championship final set for 3:10. The top 11 teams in the coaches’ preseason poll are competing.

* UC Irvine Invitational cross-country meet Saturday at Central Park in Huntington Beach. Field includes men’s and women’s teams from Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, UC Santa Barbara and San Diego State. Anteater men finished seventh last week in season-opening meet at Fullerton.

* Women’s soccer at 3 p.m. Saturday vs. Cal Poly (SLO) at Irvine. Anteaters are ranked sixth in the West Region; Cal Poly is No. 7.
