La Canada 27, St. Genevieve 7--La Canada took a 21-0 first-quarter lead at Birmingham High behind the running of Eric Ovanespour.
Ovanespour, a senior tailback, rushed 17 times for 128 yards, including 91 yards in the first quarter. Ovanespour ran three yards for a touchdown to give La Canada a 14-0 lead.
Quarterback Mike Olson opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run eight minutes into the game. Olson connected with Chris Walker for a 32-yard touchdown pass late in the quarter to give La Canada a 21-0 lead.
St. Genevieve scored on an 82-yard interception return by Chris Merrin midway through the fourth quarter.
