Scott McCarthy Is Student Trustee
Scott D. McCarthy, a third-year Orange Coast College student, has been chosen to serve as the student representative to the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees.
McCarthy has been active in student government since he enrolled at OCC in the fall of 1994, including a stint as a student lobbyist in the California Student Assn. for Community Colleges and membership on the Associated Students of Orange Coast College Board of Trustees.
He was also a member of the OCC President’s Inner Circle, also called the President’s Cabinet.
“I was determined not to be a student who just came to campus to attend classes, then went home,” McCarthy said. “I wanted to be actively involved.”
