IRVINE — Once-beaten super lightweights Mark Lewis of Mira Loma and Jaime Ocegueda of Norwalk headline tonight’s boxing card at the Irvine Marriott.
Lewis, a former Golden Gloves champion, has won 14 of his 15 fights, 12 by knockout. Ocegueda (14-1-2, nine knockouts) is probably the toughest opponent Lewis has faced.
Ocegueda, 27, won the Penta Continental super lightweight title in May in a 12-round decision over Angelo Nunez at the Woodland Hills Marriott. Nunez recently lost to Gabriel Ruelas in 10 rounds on a head butt.
The winner of tonight’s 10-round main event next will fight for the California super lightweight title.
Super featherweight Ricardo Fuentes (10-0, six knockouts) of Azusa takes on Olegario DeLeon (6-8-1, two knockouts) of Canoga Park in the six-round semi-main event. The three-bout undercard features super flyweight Carlos Hernandez (6-1, one knockout) of Indio against Ecley Martinez (2-1-1, two knockouts) of Culver City.
Tickets for tonight’s 7:30 show are $35, $30 and $25 and are on sale at the Marriott.
