TUSTIN — Cerplex Group Inc., which provides repair and technical support services to computer manufacturers, said it plans to establish a repair hub in Louisville, Ky.
James T. Schraith, chief executive of Cerplex, said the company is establishing a network of outsourcing centers on or near key airport hubs in an effort to cut shipping costs and improve customer service.
The move follows the company’s recent announcement of its first airport hub-based facility in Ontario, Calif. Cerplex said it has opened a temporary facility in Louisville and intends to move to a 70,000-square-foot building soon.
Initially, the hub will be staffed by about 40 employees, some of whom are being transferred from Cerplex’s recently closed Texas facility. The hub will repair display monitors, printers and notebook computers.
