Loyola Marymount Upsets Titans

Loyola Marymount used a first-half goal and some luck to upset 11th-ranked Cal State Fullerton, 1-0, in a nonconference men’s soccer game Sunday at Fullerton.
The Lions’ Andre Childers chipped a shot over the head of Fullerton goalkeeper Mike Forensich about 33 minutes into the first half.
The Titans (7-3-1) had two chances to score late, but Adam Black’s header hit the side post and Charlie Lynch’s free kick from 18 yards hit the crossbar.
It was the second time in 11 meetings the Lions (4-3-2) have beaten the Titans.
In a nonconference women’s soccer game:
California 1, UC Irvine 0--Rachel Davidson scored with about two minutes left in the first half for visiting Cal (8-1-1). It was the third consecutive loss for UC Irvine (7-4-1).
