Foothill Gets Its Haynes on Santa Ana Valley

Running back Franklin Haynes rushed for 214 yards in 10 carries, scored four touchdowns and had an interception to lead Foothill to a 61-20 rout of Santa Ana Valley in a Century League opener Saturday night at Western High.
It was all Haynes in the Knights’ first drive as he got the ball on all three plays and ran 37 yards, capping the drive with a seven-yard run.
Mistakes hurt the Falcons early and often as they committed six turnovers, five in the first half. The Knights converted four of them into four touchdowns, including a 43-yard interception return by Matthew Hall.
The Knights led at halftime, 40-0, and then Haynes took the ball on the first play of the third quarter and dashed 60 yards to give them a 47-0 lead. He then a caught a 13-yard pass from Robert Koster to give the Knights a 54-0 lead after three quarters.
The Falcons made the fourth quarter interesting as Bryan Save scored their first points on a 23-yard touchdown pass reception from Mike Silvas. They also recovered three onside kicks and scored twice on Mike Bobo runs of five and one yards.
