Caltech Has No Right Answers for Cal Lutheran’s Onslaught

Aluede Okokhere scored a season-high eight goals and Oskar Kantoft had four as Cal Lutheran defeated Caltech, 17-1 in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer match Saturday at Caltech.
The Kingsmen (11-5, 7-0 in conference) outshot the Beavers, 25-3, and held an 8-0 lead by halftime.
“It’s very hard to train a team not to score goals,” Cal Lutheran Coach Dan Kuntz said. “The score is unfortunate because they played real hard.”
Matt Dacko and Matthew Romeo added two goals each for the Kingsmen.
The Beavers fall to 1-15, 1-6.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
The Master’s 6, Pacific Christian 0--Liz Longbotham and Colleen Mallory each scored two goals and Krissy Trower and Sarah Essex scored once as the Mustangs (4-10-1) exploded after a scoreless first half.
Pacific Christian is 1-9.
COLLEGE WATER POLO
Pepperdine 6, UC Santa Barbara 0--Merrill Moses had 10 saves in the shutout for the Waves (5-10, 1-3) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at UC Santa Barbara (2-14, 1-5).
Former Simi Valley High standout Andy Bruininga opened the scoring in the first period. Five other players scored for Pepperdine.
HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO
Oxnard 14, Etiwanda 5--Robb Raffaelli scored six goals and Devon Huff added four as the Yellowjackets (6-10) won the consolation final of the San Bernardino tournament.
Goalkeeper Aaron Hamilton recorded 12 saves for Oxnard, which did not trail and held a 13-4 lead after three quarters.
