SAN FRANCISCO--In the spirit of the upcoming election, this year’s International Vintage Poster Fair, Nov. 1-3, features a display of political campaign posters. Included in the fair will be more than 6,500 posters of all types from around the world, dating from the 1890s. 5-9 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. $10 per day; $15 for two days; $20 for the full weekend. A lecture titled, “What is an Original Poster?” will be given at 1 p.m. and at 4 p.m. Saturday. In the Conference Center at Fort Mason Center. (415) 546-9608.
SAN CLEMENTE--Begin your holiday shopping and enjoy the bounty of the fall harvest Nov. 3 at the San Clemente Arts and Crafts Show in the 100 and 200 blocks of Avenida del Mar. The artists and artisans will be on hand 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and there will be a farmers market 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (714) 492-1900.
PALM DESERT--”That’s Entertainment” is the theme of the 32nd annual Palm Desert Golf Cart Parade, 1 p.m. Nov. 10 along El Paseo. About 100 floats created around the pint-size vehicles will travel down El Paseo. Afterward, there will be an awards ceremony and entertainment in Civic Center Park. (800) 873-2428.
MENDOCINO--The incredible edible fungus will be celebrated at the Mushroom Festival, 2-4 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Ford House Visitor Center, 735 Main St. Highlights include exhibits of mushroom art and fresh mushrooms; mushroom dyes for fabrics and yarns; mushroom-inspired snacks; and a chance to make paper from mushrooms. ROSEVILLE--Attention model railroad devotees: The 20th annual International Railfair is Nov. 9-10 at the Placer County Fairgrounds on Washington Boulevard.
