Jetliner Forced to Land

MINNEAPOLIS — A Tokyo-bound Northwest Airlines Boeing 747-200 jet with 327 people on board was forced to return to Minneapolis-St. Paul airport shortly after taking off because of engine failure, airline officials said Sunday. Officials said it was not clear what caused the engine to fail.
