Strawberry Festival Seeks Poster Artists

The California Strawberry Festival is seeking artists to create the event’s 1997 poster.
The festival committee, made up of 15 representatives from the community, is accepting artists’ portfolios in all mediums.
Once the finalists are selected by the committee, the artists must submit a strawberry-themed idea for the poster.
Past strawberry festival posters have included watercolors, photography and paintings.
The original art and all the rights will be purchased from the winning artist by the festival committee. Interested artists should contact festival organizers at 385-7578.
The annual strawberry festival will be held next year on May 17 and 18 in Oxnard.
This year, 78,000 people attended the weekend festival, which featured hundreds of strawberries, shortcakes, smoothies and chocolate-covered berries.
