HUNTINGTON BEACH — An auto theft suspect fleeing police ran a red light Sunday night and crashed into another car, seriously injuring its driver, officials said.
The crash took place about 10:15 p.m. at Beach Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue, moments after police began pursuing the suspect, said Lt. Bruce Kelly.
“It was just a few seconds; they hadn’t even gone a quarter-mile when he ran the red light,” Kelly said.
Details of the crash were sketchy late Sunday. The names of the suspect and the injured motorist were not known.
