City Keeps It Simple With New Emblem

The city’s logo has changed and city stationery soon will reflect the new look.
The current unofficial city emblem, which includes the La Habra flower (hibiscus), a church, a rocket and scales, has adorned La Habra letterheads since the early 1960s, when it was designed by longtime resident Willie Mae Caldwell.
The new design sheds the outside circle, church, rocket and scales for a “simplified” look, city officials said.
Bus benches throughout the city, pins and award plaques already reflect the new city symbol, which contains the words: “City of La Habra” over the hibiscus and “California, 1925” below it. The city was incorporated in 1925.
