Canyons’ Canale Runs Through Harbor in 10th

Kasey Canale, attempting to steal third, scored on a throwing error in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift College of the Canyons over Harbor, 4-3, in pool play of the Western State Conference baseball tournament Thursday at Canyons.

Canyons (3-1-1) tied the score, 3-3, in the seventh on Luis Sanchez’s two-run home run.

In other WSC tournament games:

Cerritos 3, Pierce 1--Jimmy Landress and Ryan McCloskey each had two hits but the host Brahmas (0-3) lost to the Falcons (5-1) for the second time this week.

Valley 18, East L.A. 11--Brad Farlow had three hits, including a home run, and three runs batted in for the Monarchs (1-4) at Valley.

In other baseball games:

Cal Baptist 4, The Master’s 3--Danny Cato and Jim Young hit first-inning doubles for the Mustangs (1-4) in a nonconference game at Master’s.

Oxnard 1, San Francisco City 0--Shawn Fossen’s fourth-inning double drove in Mike Muller for the Condors (4-1) in pool play of the Porterville tournament.

Mike Corral (2-0) pitched a complete game.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Montana 63, Cal State Northridge 36--Tammie Mills had 19 points for the Matadors (2-17, 1-8) in a Big Sky Conference game at Montana.

Mills was the only Northridge player to score in double digits. Tannea Nelson scored seven points.

Krista Redpath scored 15 points for first-place Montana (18-3, 11-0).

Valley 82, Pierce 39--Jacque Tennies had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Monarchs (19-9, 6-1) in a Western State Conference Southern Division game at Pierce.

Kristen Kiley-Boynton added 10 points and 10 assists for Valley.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Fillmore 3, Bishop Diego 0--Francisco Zavala scored his 14th goal of the season and the Flashes (13-1, 10-1) clinched the Tri-Valley League title at Fillmore.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Buena 3, Rio Mesa 0--Angelina Sanderson, Amber Carr and Melanie Montoya each scored for the Bulldogs (16-2-4, 9-0-3) in the Channel League match at Buena.
