Pact With State Limits ProCare Business
State regulators and a San Diego-based managed-care company accused of falsifying medical records to pass a state inspection have reached a settlement that bars the firm from doing business in San Diego County but permits it to operate in Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties. Under the settlement, ProCare Medical Group will pay a $145,000 fine and has agreed to no longer provide medical services to Medi-Cal enrollees in San Diego County. The state will continue to contract with ProCare to serve Medi-Cal patients in Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties.
