Time--7:30 p.m. Radio--KIEV (870).
The Bruins had an easy victory over California Thursday night. Melanie Pearson, one of three freshman to start for UCLA, made five three-pointers en route to a career-high 21 points. Top recruit Maylana Martin leads the Bruins with nearly 18 points per game. Third-ranked Stanford has won 43 consecutive games at home and won six consecutive games against UCLA. Stanford’s top player, Kate Starbird, is averaging 28 points in conference games, but was held to 14 by USC. It didn’t matter, because every Stanford starter finished in double figures as the Cardinal won by 34 points.
