Park Funding

* Re “County Seeks to Run Parks Under New Plan,” Feb. 2:
Now wait a minute! The county Recreation and Parks Department tries to get rid of nine parks rather than spend money to operate them and is now going to other county departments for that money? We’ve just passed two park bonds worth nearly $1 billion dollars, and neither the city nor the county can find $1.8 million to fund these nine parks? One year’s interest alone on $1 billion would fund about 300 parks at that cost.
I can’t wait to hear the answer. I can always use a good laugh!
