Sunstone Finishes Acquisition of Seattle Hotel

SAN CLEMENTE — Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. said Wednesday it has completed its acquisition of a Hawthorn Suites Hotel in the Seattle area for $13.6 million.
Sunstone Hotel bought the 152-room hotel in Kent, Wash., from ING Barings and an affiliate of Westmont Hospitality. Under a 1996 development agreement with Hawthorn Suites, Sunstone has the first right to develop the upscale Hawthorn Suites facilities in selected markets in Pacific Coast states.
Sunstone is a hotel real estate investment trust that focuses on acquisitions in the western U.S.
