Used-Oil Recycling Program Begins

The city has started a recycling program for used motor oil.
Residents may pick up free recycling kits, each of which contains a 15-quart reusable container and a funnel, at the Brea Community Center.
Used oil can be taken to state-certified collection centers, which pay 4 cents a quart for the oil.
Firestone Tires at 891 E. Imperial Highway in Brea is among the approved sites. For other locations, call the state’s Used Oil Hot Line at (800) 553-2962.
