Cyberlog: It was a high-flying week for pilot Linda Finch, above. She landed in Burbank on Monday on the first leg of a trip retracing Amelia Earhart’s fateful world flight. By Friday, she munched on a turkey sandwich over El Paso as she tapped out a message to fans from the cockpit of her vintage Burbank-built airplane. “It is just a little bumpy. . . .” About a million fans have checked her log at www.worldflight.org
Winners and Losers: With two consecutive triumphs, state Academic Decathlon champions at El Camino Real High School were clear winners. Woodland Hills co-coach Dave Roberson is ecstatic: “It was really nice to have all these people cheer us on.” . . . Feeling black and blue was former lightweight contender Ruben Castillo. He was trying for a comeback Thursday at the Reseda Country Club but landed instead on his knees in the third round.
The Week Ahead: Federal officials in Sherman Oaks on Tuesday will announce a multibillion-dollar plan to help finance housing for 75,000 low- and moderate-income families.
