Re “Legions of Lawyers Lead Charge in Tobacco War,” March 17: Let’s see if I have this straight! The states may now sue the tobacco companies for expenses paid in the medical care of those suspected of incurring their maladies from cigarettes.
At the same time these same august government bodies are accepting, and have accepted over the years, millions of dollars in sales taxes on the very same dangerous thrill tubes used by smokers of their own free will.
What part of this scenario am I not getting?
