City’s Track and Field Event Set for April 12

The city’s annual track and field championships will be April 12 at Newport Harbor High School’s Davidson Stadium.
Each participant may compete in two running events and one field event, or in two field events and one running event.
The winners will represent Newport Beach in the Orange County Municipal Athletic Assn. County meet at Trabuco Hills High School on May 10.
The competition is open to children who are residents of Newport Beach and are from 7 to 15 years old. The registration fee is $5 before April 11 and $10 after that date.
Registered contestants may participate in pre-event clinics on Friday or April 11 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Andersen Elementary School, Harbor View Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Mariners Elementary School, Newport Heights Elementary School or Newport Elementary School.
