Last week, someone wrote in to suggest that Jim Abbott was still in professional baseball because he is “handicapped.” I don’t believe there are many people who consider Abbott handicapped. He is a proven major league pitcher who overcame a physical challenge to reach his dream. Anyone who suggests otherwise is handicapped in their thinking.

The new and improved Angels have decided to release their organist, Joe Tripoli, in favor of canned music. Think about it: With his salary, plus the increase in parking, and next year’s proposed ticket hike . . . that should just about cover Jim Abbott’s $5.6 million for not playing.
Sounds like the old Angels.
