Galaxy update-- Backup goalkeeper David Kramer shut out D.C. United in the opener--Jorge Campos is playing in Mexico and won’t rejoin the team until May--but the Galaxy lost in a shootout. Guillermo Jara is the likely replacement for Mauricio Cienfuegos--who is with the El Salvador national team in Canada--in the starting lineup. Danny Pena will have to contain Preki tonight.
Wizard update--They beat the San Jose Clash, 4-3, in a shootout after regulation had ended with the score tied, 2-2. Coach Ron Newman’s team got goals from Mo Johnston and Preki to offset two by Eric Wynalda. Kansas City is expected to contend for the league title.
