West Hills Chaminade High, ranked No. 2 in the Southland by The Times, lost to Anaheim Canyon, 5-1, in a Southern Section Division III semifinal at Pierce College.
The Eagles (27-3) managed only three hits in the game and only two against Canyon starter Mike Tomarelli (8-0) who lasted 5 1/3 innings. The left-handed pitcher allowed one run while striking out four and walking four for the Comanches (24-6).
Long Beach Millikan 2, Encino Crespi 1--Josh Weller raced home from third on a ground ball to second base in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead Millikan (24-6) in a Southern Section Division I semifinal at Blair Field.
West Covina South Hills 3, Anaheim Magnolia 2--Sophomore Edgar Ortiz hit a home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lead the Huskies (22-7) in a Division IV final at South Hills.
