Variety Show to Raise Senior Center Funds

A variety show featuring singing, tap dancing, Irish dancing, ballerinas and comedy will benefit the Costa Mesa Senior Center on Friday.
Masters of ceremonies for the biannual event are Mayor Peter Buffa and City Manager Allan L. Roeder. Though the show is a benefit for senior citizens, entertainers of all ages will perform. A party will follow.
The event is held every two years, rather than annually, because of the amount of work it takes to audition acts and plan the show, said Caroline Butler, secretary of the center’s board of directors, which is in charge of the event.
Tickets, available at the center, 695 W. 19th St., are $15 each or $25 for two. A light buffet and dessert is included. The event begins at 7 p.m. Friday.
