5 Paramedics Saluted for Saving Man, 75

Stewart Heinz’s heart hasn’t missed a beat because five local paramedics wouldn’t let it.

The paramedics were recently honored by the City Council for their efforts in saving the 75-year-old man.

“We may have treated you for an ill heart that day, but you certainly have a heart of gold,” Ali Sargent, one of the honored paramedics, told Heinz. Others honored were Ron Stevens, Kirt Tobiassen, Justin Neville and Ryan Crene.

Cindy Heinz, 74, called paramedics after finding her husband unconscious in their home. The paramedics spent about 20 minutes keeping him alive before transporting him to a hospital. He was released a few days later.

“We went to fire station to thank [the paramedics] with cookies,” Stewart Heinz said. “They really took care of me.”
