Public comment will be gauged Thursday on a proposed downtown movie multiplex.
The project, which would combine movie theaters, restaurants and retail space, is in the planning stages, said Anne Friedrich, deputy community development director for the Culver City Redevelopment Agency.
OliverMcMillan Development LLC of San Diego has proposed building a 200,000-square-foot structure at Washington and Culver boulevards. The site is now a parking lot and is the former location of the Murphy Buick dealership.
Tentatively named the Culver City Entertainment Center, the proposed building would be divided between retail and restaurant space and theaters. The theaters would occupy the second floor and be operated by AMC Theatres, which formed an agreement with the developer last month, Friedrich said.
Thursday’s meeting is an opportunity for the community to view the preliminary designs. It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Linwood Howe Elementary School, 4034 Irving Place.
