Neonatal Unit to Host Patient Reunion
St. John’s Regional Medical Center will hold its fourth annual reunion Saturday for children who were patients in the neonatal intensive care unit any time since January 1996.
Festivities will include photos with Santa Claus, face painting, clowns, gifts for the former patients and refreshments.
“It’s a celebration for the parents because their babies are doing well,” said Caroline Troupe, a clinical social worker.
The reunion is also an opportunity for families to visit with nurses who cared for their infants.
Over the last year about 380 babies were treated in the neonatal unit for problems ranging from premature birth or pneumonia to drug withdrawal or heart problems.
The reunion will be held in the conference center on the garden level from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For reservations call 988-2664.
