Arizona Discovers the Road Isn’t So Terrible After All

From Associated Press

Arizona didn’t show any weariness as its grueling trip came to an end and the sixth-ranked Wildcats shut down Baylor, 83-68, Monday night in Waco, Texas.

“I think the last two games we did a lot better,” center A.J. Bramlett said of his team’s two-game sweep against Texas teams. The Wildcats beat Texas, 88-81, Saturday in Austin.

“We know everybody plays their best against us, but if we jump out early like we did it’s hard for the other team to get going.”

George Washington 70, No. 19 Maryland 66--Shawnta Rogers scored 23 points and made a steal that led to a crucial four-point play down the stretch as George Washington won the championship game of the Franklin National Bank Classic.

Elliot immediately fouled Rogers, his fifth of the game, and the referee ruled it an intentional foul. Rogers made one of two free throws and the Colonials retained possession, with Seco Camara making a three-point shot to make the score 67-62 with one minute remaining.
