Marina, Senior; Volleyball/Outside hitter
Phillips helped the Vikings win their first state title with 21 kills in Marina’s 15-9, 15-10, 15-9 victory over San Jose Archbishop Mitty in the state Division I final Saturday at Cypress College. Phillips, who has committed to Pepperdine, had 22 kills in the semifinals against Poway and earned Division I MVP honors.

* Rosary, sophomore. Named Fullerton tournament MVP, scoring 29 points in semifinals and 11 in final, a 41-32 victory over Loara.
Amy Knebel/Volleyball/Opposite
* Ocean View, senior. Named Division III MVP, helping Ocean View win its first state title, topping Forestville El Molino in four games.
Kim Nguyen/Tennis
* Saddleback, freshman. Reached Southern Section individual tournament semifinals before falling to West Torrance’s Morisa Yang.
