On the move?: Ryan Geisler, a freshman kicker who was second in scoring for Cal Lutheran last season with 53 points, said Monday he is interested in transferring to a Division I program.
Geisler, a former three-sport standout at Camarillo High, said he plans to search for a team with available scholarship money and an incumbent kicker who will be a senior next season. Geisler, coming from the NCAA Division III Kingsmen, would be ineligible for the 1998 season because of transfer rules.
“It’s nothing against Cal Lutheran or the team, I just want to give a bigger school a try,” Geisler said.
He’s in: Simi Valley senior Ryan Meuse, a standout track and soccer athlete, was accepted at Stanford on Tuesday.
Meuse, who won the 800 meters at the Southern Section Master’s meet last season and is a defender on the Pioneers’ soccer team, also considered Yale, Brown, Princeton and UCLA.
