TV Academy to Discuss Acting for Commercials

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will hold its third annual seminar on “Acting in Commercials: How to Get the Job” Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the academy’s Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre, 5230 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood.
Hosts of the session are commercial casting director Sheila Manning and actor Conrad G. Bachmann, both members of the TV academy’s board of governors. Additional participants include casting agents Danny Goldman, Ava Shevitt, Mark Measures and Jeff Danis.
Seminar topics will include audition do’s and don’ts, photos and resumes, cold reading techniques and voice-over techniques.
Admission is $15 and includes lunch.
