Reunions Sought of Kin Separated by War

The government said it has proposed to North Korea that the Red Cross organizations in both nations discuss how to reunite families separated after the peninsula was divided in the 1950-53 Korean War. A statement from Seoul’s Ministry of National Unification said the South’s Red Cross suggested a meeting as soon as possible to discuss setting up a location for families to meet. The two nations have maintained an uneasy truce since the end of the Korean War.
