Surf’s up at Irvine Valley College’s Gallery Hall now through Oct. 31 with “Wavemakers,” an exhibition of about 30 works by artists who depict the surfer’s world of water and waves in acrylic, watercolor, serigraphs and mixed media.
Artists include John Seversen, Lynn Coleman, Ken Auster, Ray Friesz and Jon Christopher.
“Each artist approaches waves from their own life and aesthetic vision,” said Mark Leysen, IVC gallery coordinator. “Some are actual surfers, passionate about the part it plays in the California lifestyle.”
Gallery Hall hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Gallery Hall is in Building B300 on the IVC campus.
