Council, School Board to Meet on Campus Land Sale Plans

A heated debate is expected Wednesday as the City Council and the Anaheim Union High School District Board of Trustees meet in a special session to consider plans for a housing development on part of the John F. Kennedy High School campus.
“In the past, this issue has generated a lot of people and discussion,” La Palma City Manager Daniel E. Keen said.
The school district has been considering selling a 5-acre parcel at the south end of the campus for a housing development. Sale proceeds would go to campus improvements. Various athletic fields that occupy the proposed development site would be moved elsewhere on campus.
The meeting will be at the La Palma Central Park Community Center, 7821 Walker St., at 7 p.m. Information: 523-7700.
