Crash Kills Motorcyclist in Tujunga

TUJUNGA — A motorcyclist was killed Monday evening after he lost control of his bike and crashed into an open field, authorities said.
The man, who had not yet been identified, was believed to be in his early 20s, according to Los Angeles Police Sgt. Lester Freeman.
The accident occurred about 6:40 p.m. near the intersection of Lowell Avenue and Day Street. The motorcyclist was traveling about 70 mph up a hill north on Lowell Avenue when the cycle hit a curb and crashed, Freeman said. The man was wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Freeman said.
