Forbes Ranks Top 200 U.S. Small Companies

Woodland Hills-based Panavision, which designs and manufactures high-tech precision film camera systems, tops Forbes magazine’s 11th annual list of the 200 Best Small Companies in America. Fifty, or 25%, of the top companies provide computer-related services, compared with 11% on Forbes’ first ranking in 1987. Panavision boasted $144 million in sales to Hollywood for the latest 12 months and had net income of $17.3 million. Simi Valley-based Eltron International was No. 5. The average revenue of the 200 companies was $144 million.
